A long time ago, the Emperor hosted a racing game and said that the first 12 winners would be included in the 12 zodiacs. A lot of animals participated, and the mouse took the victory. The second place was the ox, and followed by the tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, chicken, dog, and finally, pig.
Both the cat and mouse were on the ox's back; however, midway through the river, the clever mouse wanted to win the race, so he pushed the cat in the water. Before the finish line, the mouse immediately jumped off the ox's back and won the race. That's why the cat wasn't included in the race. And also why that the cat hates the mouse now.

We completed Envision Math TOPIC 10-1 worksheet. (10-1 Adding Groups of 10).
Both the classes today completed their worksheets impressively quick. The scores were high as well. It seemed like they're familiar with the concept this week. The week of math practices last week helped a lot with the topic today. I only had to teach it a few times, and the students grasped it easily.
For your information, the last part of today's homework, make sure your student circle the "good friends" pair (two numbers that add to 10), so it'll be easier for them to do very long addition problems.

We focused on Addition today. Students need to find "good friends" (two numbers that make ten.) For example: 3+2+7+8+5+1+5+9+3+4+7+6+5+5+8 =, students need to find “good friends” first instead of doing addition from the first number to the last one. So to do this example question, students will need to find “good friends” pairs of 3 and 7, 2 and 8, 5 and 5, 1 and 9, 3and 7, 4 and 6, and 5and 5. So there are 7 pairs, and then students will be able to find out the answer is 78.

We were doing very well today. However, some students answer 56+10=57. I found that when students used vertical method to solve problems their answer will be more accurate compare to horizontal method.
