We are continuing to do "Intervention" on Tuesday & Thursday (10:40- 11:10). We are dividing all the first grade students into six groups. The groups are based upon their test's results. If an area is needed for a student to improve on, s/he will be placed in that particular group. This week is the Third week of intervention. On Monday (02/02) & Tuesday (02/03) students will have a mid-test to determine if we should continue to topic 10 (Pearson Envisions Math)or stick with this new method.

Monday (02/02) :
Red class had a comprehension test today. Most students got improved. All first grade teachers will decide what's next after Wednesday's meeting.
We did three numbers' subtraction and addition (as shown below) today. I also attached score range below for your information. I want to mention that there are 7 students got below 59 in Blue class because they didn't complete the worksheet. Therefore, I asked students in Red class to complete the worksheet for more accurate assessment.

Tuesday (02/03):
Mrs. Huang had students to play games to reinforce the relationship between two numbers add up to 10 (1&9; 2&8; 3&7;...).
Both Blue and Red class completed subtraction and addition worksheet today. Mrs. Huang asked students to complete theirs by themselves today. By giving two classes the same time, all students in the Blue class had completed their worksheets in class while about 7 students had left at least half of the worksheet empty in the Red class.

Wednesday is a short day. Only morning class did a math worksheet today. We had 8 students who completed 40 questions in about 15 minutes. We had 11 students did not complete it. You can see the score distribution chart below.

Wednesday is a short day. Only morning class did a math worksheet today. We had 8 students who completed 40 questions in about 15 minutes. We had 11 students did not complete it. You can see the score distribution chart below.

Thursday (02/05):
Today, we learned about "good friend."
"Good friends" are two numbers that are added to a 10. (e.g 1+9, 2+8). After some practices, the students were able to quickly solve problems involving this concept. I'm sure that students have a good foundation now after days of addition and subtraction practices. We have a teacher's meeting today, and we decided to continue on learning topic ten in math next week.
