Reviewed YTC test:
Today, while reviewing the YTC test, a picture (above) shows two ladies posing for a picture. However, their poses look like they're saying "goodbye," so the students were confused on that. So, I explained to the students the difference between cultures. In most Eastern Asian cultures, people would hold up the peace sign when taking a photo. These pictures below are after I explained to the students of some hand gestures that Chinese people might use when taking photos.

This video shows a student completing her math assignment during recess. It's of a 3 number subtraction problem. Students are now able to complete these kinds of higher level problems by themselves with decent speed.
This week's math topic is using data to answer questions. Because these worksheets have a lot of Mandarin questions, I would read aloud the problem for the students. Like the example below, I asked in Mandarin "what's the most?" and they were able to answer the question. Some were even able to copy down the Chinese characters. The majority of our students' listening is a surprise to me, a pleasant surprise! They are showing a huge improvements.
