I showed students YCT vocabulary words and asked them to look at these words. Students put their heads down for a couple of seconds while I was taking away at least one word. Their task is to identify and write the missing word down on their small white board. At first, I started with 4 vocabulary words and then it eventually progressed to 8. Students have the ability to not only remember the missing word(s), but to write them down without seeing the word(s) on their own white board. (like the following pictures.)

Vocabulary : Water(水) and Ice (冰). Warm(温温的/热热的), Cold(冰冰的).
Students use their hands to touch a laptop computer to feel the warmth and said "warm" in Chinese. (My old laptop computer overheats) After touch the "hot" computer, student touch a can with ice in it. Students said "cold" in Chinese.
I put the ice on students' hands, so they learned that when ice touches warm objects (i.e. their hands), it would melt and become liquid water. I then showed some videos of liquid water turning into ice, so they understand that when water become cold, it would turn into ice.
Several students wanted to eat the ice cubes, but I didn't let them.
Vocabulary : Water(水) and Ice (冰). Warm(温温的/热热的), Cold(冰冰的).
Students use their hands to touch a laptop computer to feel the warmth and said "warm" in Chinese. (My old laptop computer overheats) After touch the "hot" computer, student touch a can with ice in it. Students said "cold" in Chinese.
